CNG Conversions Gallery : 1933 Ford Hot Rod

A classic piece of automobile history is fueled by natural gas

Dubbed “The Gasser,” this 1933 Ford hot rod was built in Fairfield, California. WJ Daytech Automotive and CNG Retrofit manufacturer AFVTech Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona, teamed up to custom build the high-tech, classic, CNG-powered hot rod. The build specs for The Gasser include:

  1. Body and chassis by Factory Five Racing
  2. A custom paint job
  3. LS-7 (427c.i.) crate motor from GM Performance that's been rebuilt for CNG, including new rings, valves and seats
  4. Six-speed auto transmission by T.C.I. – paddle shifted
  5. Ford nine-inch rear with Strange Axles
  6. Custom four-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes)
  7. Custom selectable traction control
  8. HID headlight pods
  9. Electric-assisted steering
