Add CNG Stations to Your GPS Device

The CNG Fuel Finder mobile app allows you to use your iPhone or Android device to check in and provide updates from CNG filling stations. But if you use a Garmin or TomTom GPS navigation device, you can easily put our station information in your pocket or on your dashboard.

Garmin

To install CNGnow station information on your Garmin GPS device, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Garmin button below to download the CNGStations.gpi file to your computer. This file is updated every night with the most recent CNGnow station data.
  2. Connect your Garmin device to your computer and navigate to the file storage area of the device.
  3. If it does not yet exist, create a folder named “POI” on the device.
  4. Add the CNGStations.gpi file to the “POI” folder.
  5. Once installed, the CNG stations will be available as a POI category on your device.


 

Note: To ensure you have the latest station data, please update your device regularly.

TomTom

TomTom users can choose to download the CNGnow station data manually and add it to any TomTom device. Using the TomTom HOME software*, users can also choose to add CNGnow station data from the TomTom Store. Instructions for both options are below.

To download CNGnow station data and add it to your device:

  1. Click the TomTom button below to download the CNG_Stations.zip file to your computer. This file is updated every night with the most recent CNGnow station data.
  2. On your computer, click the downloaded file to unzip and extract the contents. Once extracted, you should find the following four files in a “CNG_Stations” folder on your computer: CNG_Stations_x2.bmp, CNG_Stations.bmp, CNG_Stations.ov2 and CNG_Stations.ver.
  3. For steps on how to install the downloaded CNG station location data for your specific TomTom device, please refer to this online guide for adding third-party point of interest (POI) data from TomTom.
  4. Once installed, the CNG stations will be available as a POI category on your device.

 

To add CNGnow station data to a TomTom device using the TomTom HOME software*, please follow these instructions.

If you use TomTom HOME:

  1. Connect the TomTom device to your computer. Click “Yes” on the TomTom device when prompted to connect with the computer.
  2. In the TomTom HOME software, select the option to “Add Traffic, Voice and other services.”
  3. Next, select the “Points of Interest” option.
  4. Search for the phrase "United States CNG Stations."
  5. Install the POI set named “CNG Stations.”
  6. Once the installation completes, CNGnow station data will be available as a POI category on your TomTom device.

*Only devices managed with the TomTom HOME software have access to the TomTom Store option. Please check the TomTom website to verify that your device is compatible with the TomTom HOME software.

Note: To ensure you have the latest station data, please update your device regularly.

KML

CNGnow station data is available in KML format for applications such as Google Earth. Click the KML button below to save the CNG station KML data to your computer.
