Garbage collection is a dirty job. But it's now being done in a cleaner way, thanks to new Allied Waste trash trucks.

A couple of Birmingham men are planning a drive into history. Two Birmingham businessmen are hoping to be the first to drive a car powered by Compressed Natural Gas all the way down Route 66.

California has been awarded $83.9 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act transit funding, and two San Gabriel Valley cities are going to tap into that money. Montebello will get $1.9 million to buy three 40-foot buses that run on compressed natural gas, or CNG.

A CNG fueled cutaway bus recently completed the demanding Altoona Bus Test without any unscheduled maintenance or repairs to the CNG fuel system.

Thanks to the shale discoveries, Pickens believes we now have enough natural gas — the estimated equivalent of more than 700 billion barrels of oil — to generate electricity and power vehicles.
